Reviews for B&B A la Decouverte – Old Quebec city

Top Notch! – June 2019
Great location, convenient to Old Quebec, yet quiet neighbourhood. Very close to VIA Rail station. Nathalie is a truly wonderful host and Paul is very entertaining! We thoroughly appreciated all of their special hospitality.

Nathalie’s advice, both in advance and during our stay, was so helpful, making the best use our time. The room was clean and had everything that we needed, including extra towels. Windows open for fresh air and fans worked perfectly.

Breakfasts were lovingly made, including our early morning take away when we left early on the train. Loved the yummy surprises! Thank you both for making our first visit to Quebec City top notch.

A la Decouverte is a hidden gem – October 2018

Like a polished gem it sparkles with cleanliness. Our pleasantly engaging hostess Nathalie has over 16 years of experience.
Her attention to detail shows in her B&B’s cleanliness, daily fresh home made breads and fruit and continued informative support can only be given an A+.
Sans TV it allowed for a quiet and calm experience which was fully appreciated. I am happy to recommend A la Decouverte B&B.

Great location in the heart of Old Quebec – September 2018

We stayed here for three nights on a recent road trip through Quebec. The interior of the old building has been lovingly renovated and decorated.

The owner, Nathalie, was delightful. Each day for breakfast, she made an assortment of excellent breads and fruit parfaits.
The location was perfect for walking to everything we wanted to see. Her suggestions of things to do made our stay even more enjoyable.

One day she served us tea midday after a rainy outing! Our cozy room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. We would highly recommend this B&B to anyone who wants the experience of staying in the heart of Quebec.

A really good B & B – October 2017

We spent 5 nights here in September, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The location is great – within easy walking distance of the Station, Farmer’s Market, and eateries.

Our room was comfortable and well appointed, Tea and coffee always available in the basement, The breakfasts were terrific.

Lovely home-baked bread and cake (different flavors each day), fresh fruit, and much more. Nathalie and Paul were excellent hosts, and passed on lots of very useful information and tips on places to see and things to do.

Would we visit again? Yes, most certainly.

Lovely Stay – October 2017

We stayed here twice on our month long visit to Canada this September. Very glad to say that it is just as good as it was on our last visit 10 years ago!

We had a very comfortable room with a very well equipped bathroom. The breakfasts were as good as ever with lots of home made goodies.

Nathalie and Paul are lovely hosts and we really appreciated their hospitality.

The situation of the B&B, near the bus and train stations, was ideal for us travelling without a car.

It was within walking distance of good restaurants and near to local buses for slow walkers like us! Thank you Nathalie and Paul.

Comfortable and Well Positioned for walkers – August 2017

Nathalie was a great hostess. The Bed and Breakfast was very nice. We had a lovely room with a large bathroom at the top of the stairs.

Nathalie even helped carry our bags upstairs. The bedding was comfortable and we used the fan in the room to keep things cool.

The continental breakfast was very nice. Nathalie baked each day and provided us a breakfast-to-go when we had to leave early to catch the train on our final day, which was appreciated.

The best thing about the facility was its position in the old city, just off Rue Saint-Paul and just across from the Farmer’s Market. We could also walk to all the small cafes and artist galleries in the old town near the waterfront.

Being in town during the New France Festival, we were able to walk to the waterfront for the fireworks and all activities. Just up the hill near the house was the upper old town, with its churches, museums, and views of the city below.
