Is breakfast included in room rate ?
Yes, breakfast is included .

Is parking available ?
Yes, many public parking facilities are available 1 or 2 blocks away from the house (8$ to 12$ CAD per 24-hour period) and their availability is generally not an issue. Parking is NOT included in our rates.

Is there a curfew at the B&B ?
No, there is no curfew at the B&B. You may come back to your room at any time at night taking care not to wake up the other guests and ourselves off course ! Kindly ensure that the front door to the house is properly closed and locked !

Do we get a key to the room & the house during our stay at the B&B ?
Yes, a key to the room and one to the front door of the house will be provided for every room rented during the duration of your stay with us.

Are bikes provided or is there a place nearby where bikes can be rented ?
We do not unfortunately provide bikes but you can rent some just around the corner from our house. Bikes can be stored inside the house when you are not using them, if needed.

Are towels and bed linens provided ?
Yes, not to worry, all of that is provided ! Towels are provided and will be changed regularly, after every second night usually, or before if you wish it. Bed sheets are provided and will be changed after the second or third night depending on the total lenght of the stay or before, if necessary.

Room cleaning, privacy...
We believe that your privacy and comfort are important and we hope that you will feel at home and comfortable during you stay at the B&B. For these reasons, we pay a lot of attention at leaving you quiet and undisturbed !

Each room and its bathroom are meticulously cleaned before your arrival. During a short stay of 2 or 3 nights, we usually do not enter the room to make the bed or to clean, unless something requires our immediate attention. Do not hesitate to let us know. Clean towels will be provided regularly off course!

For longer stays, we will happily refresh your bathroom after every second night or so and change the towels/bed sheets as required.

Check-in and check-out times
Room check-in time is between 3 pm and 6 pm. Luggage check-in is possible before 3pm, upon arrangement only.
For a later arrival time, kindly consult with us. Being a small place, very late arrivals (past 9 pm or so) are not as desirable. We do have to go to bed too !
Check out time and key hand-in is at 11am.
It is usually possible to leave luggages with us for a few more hours for our guests taking the train/bus or flying out of Quebec city later in the day.

What method(s) of payment are accepted ?
Being a small place, we cannot process credit card payments. Payment should be made cash at the time of the stay. We thank you for your understanding and we hope that it is not too inconvenient. There are many ATMs and exchange bureaus nearby and it is not generally an issue. A proper receipt will be handed to you.

When should the bill for the room be paid ?
Payment for the stay should be made on arrival when possible OR at the latest the day before departure morning in order to avoid last-minute problems, such as ATM withdrawal problems, lost cards, bank hours, problems cashing in travellers' cheques, etc..)

Deposit and cancellation policies
A deposit may be required for high demand periods of the year, special weekends, extended stays or reservations involving more than one room. A deposit is fully refundable (less bank fees, if any) if a cancellation occurs at least 15 days before the start of the stay. Otherwise, it is kept in full. When there is a reduction in the number of nights during the stay, a penalty equal to 50% of the daily rate for each room is payable for each night cancelled.

Are pets allowed at the B&B ?
No, unfortunately, pets are not allowed at the B&B. There is however a cat living on the premisses. Our lovely miss Scarlet is strictly not allowed in the rooms. She can also be kept out of the living - dining room during the duration of your stay. Just let us know.

Do the owners live on the premisses ?
Yes, we do.

Is the area safe ? Can we walk late out at night without worries ?
Yes absolutely ! Quebec city is very safe.

Is there an elevator in the house ? Are there any rooms at the ground level ?
No, our home is a family house dating back to 1846 and there is no elevator but many stairs ! We have no rooms at the ground level.

How far is the airport from the old city ?
Is there a shuttle from the airport to the center?
The airport is located about 20 to 25 minutes by car from the old city. The best transportation method from the airport to the old city is the cab ( appr. 32$ cdn, flat fee). There are no shuttles available. You can also rent a car at the airport. Car rental companies are also near our location and it is a short walk to their office.

How far is the train station / bus terminal ?
We are conveniently located just a few minutes walking from the bus terminal and the train station (Gare du Palais).
Walking instructions to our place: When coming by train or bus: from the train station's main entrance, go pass the large fountain in front of the station, take a small street called VAISSEAUX-DU-ROI (in front of the station) going up (perpendicular to the boulevard on which the train station is) , then turn left on the first street on your left called ST-VALLIER EAST STREET ( we are the second building on your left after you have turned). Do not go up the steeper part of the hill entering the walled area. Look for a house with a light blue roof and a red bricks facade with geranium flowers at the windows. You should not have to walk more than 5 or 6 minutes !

Do the rooms/B&B have air-conditioning ?
No, there is no A/C in the B&B. However, each room has a pedestal fan. There are also ceiling fans in the dining-living room. The rooms remain reasonably comfortable with the help of fans. If this is a particular issue to you, kindly let us know and we will do our best to suggest the most appropriate room in that case.

Stairs and bagages
The house has many stairs...kindly consider the difficulties and inconvenience of bringing up the stairs large and over-packed suitcases ! We will do our best to help you whenever it is possible. However , we are limited in the weight that we can lift ourselves !

Proximity of restaurants, boutiques and banks
Walking along St-Paul Street nearby, you will find lovely cafes and restaurants as well as antique shops and art galleries. St-Jean Street up the hill from our location is the main street of the old city and offers many restaurants, boutiques and cafes.

What is the electric system in Canada/North America ?
The power outlets deliver 110 volts current.

Is there a TV set in the room/B&B ?
In order to maintain a quiet and resting atmosphere in the house for everyone, there are no TV sets in the rooms nor in the house.
